La Palma (La Palma) is a picturesque island of volcanic origin, located in the northwestern part of the Canary Islands. «Isla Bonita,» as the natives call La Palma, emerged less than 2 million years ago, making it the youngest in the Canary archipelago.

Beaches of La Palma
The rocky coastline of the island hinders the rapid development of beaches, but some amazing spots can be found here:
- Puerto Naos — features black sand, lots of palm trees, and developed infrastructure;
- Tazacorte – a sea of sun, water, and fish restaurants;
- Charco Verde – perfect for a leisurely day;
- Los Cancajos – a paradise for diving enthusiasts. Secluded coves, a separate pool for children, and crystal-clear water are the main advantages of this beach;
- Playa Nueva – popular among surfers;
- Las Monjas – the official nudist beach. You can find it 1.5 km from Puerto Naos.
Cities and Resorts of La Palma
The small city of Santa Cruz de La Palma, the capital of the island, can rightly be called the highlight of La Palma. Once a major port and a transit point between America and Europe, it now welcomes tourists from all over the world. A week wouldn’t be enough to explore all the interesting places in Santa Cruz de La Palma! Dali Street and Sazar Palace, the old Town Hall Ayuntamiento and Spain Square, the Church of Saint Light and the House of Tobacco… Such beauty takes your breath away!
As for resorts, some of the most famous include:
- Charco Azul – an ocean pool by the Barlovente lighthouse. A lively resort where you can have a good rest and a hearty meal;
- La Fajana – a small but very beautiful area consisting of artificial sand beaches and three amazing coves. It has good infrastructure — restaurants, supermarkets, cafes;
- Santa Cruz – located near the port. The comfortable beach of this resort stretches along the entire road to the capital of La Palma;
- Los Concahos – ideal for a family weekend with children.
Attractions of La Palma
La Palma is a unique and tranquil island, the main feature of which is the lush greenery of laurel forests and national reserves spread across young volcanic soils.
Love feathered friends? In the Palmitos Park, the largest reserve of butterflies and exotic birds, there are hundreds of them. If you want to tickle your nerves, take a hike to the Teneguía volcano, whose last eruption was in 1971.
