Diego Hernandez Beach

One of the best wild beaches in the south of Tenerife Island. During low tide, a wide shoreline with pleasant fine gray sand opens up. The entry into the ocean is gradual. The bottom is sandy, but there are huge boulders in some places, so be careful.

Bring a mask and fins with you. If you swim a little to the right, you’ll see an underwater reef with fluffy colorful algae and fish. Yachts often come here after watching whales and dolphins so tourists can snorkel. But you can swim for free.

On the beach, you may encounter naked people, as naturism is common here. But no one is forcing you to undress. Just relax and sunbathe.

How to get to Playa Diego Hernández

The easiest way is by rented car. Park your car along the road here. Then walk towards the ocean on the trail. The road is dusty and will take about 15 minutes.

Another option is to walk along the ocean from Costa Adeje to the next town Playa Paraiso, and stop to swim at this beach along the way.
