In Puerto de la Cruz, you won’t go hungry. There are many cafes and restaurants here with cuisines from different countries around the world.
Arepera Delicias Venecanarias
In this place, you can try Latin American fast food with various fillings to choose from:
- Arepas – a dish from Venezuela and Colombia, cornmeal patties with different fillings
- Cachapas – slightly sweet corn pancakes made from freshly ground corn with fillings of meat and cheese.
- Empanadas – deep-fried patties
I ordered myself very tasty Cachapas Morena (Braised beef, yellow cheese, avocado) and Arepa Especiale Granjera (Chicken breast, salad, yellow cheese, egg, tomato, and onion). I recommend this place for a quick and satisfying snack. Address.
La Familia
I’m sharing a spot where Lena likes to eat cakes in Puerto de la Cruz – it’s the La Familia pastry shop. There’s always something to choose from on display – honey cake, cheesecake, lactose-free cheesecake, Sachertorte, Esterhazy. They’re delicious, almost like homemade. Prices are low – €3-5 for a large piece. We usually get one for two and tea.
Yesterday, I discovered their sourdough focaccia sandwiches. Filling and tasty. There are many fillings to choose from, like chicken, cheese, and tomatoes. Finger-licking good for €5. They also have pancakes, syrniki (€7), and a menu in Russian.
David Rodriguez Café
A nice café with cakes near the promenade. Try the three chocolates cake (Tarta de Tres Chocolates) or the turrón cake (Tarta de Turrón), Ferrero pastry. If you’re hungry, order hearty sandwiches with cheese and ham. Address.
VULK Brewery
A restaurant and brewery with its own beer. About 8 types of craft beer are available on tap.
Be sure to try: hamburguesas (burgers), parrillada de carne (grilled meat), Iberian pork steak, grilled cheese. Live music plays on Fridays and Saturdays. Address.
Gastrobar Naife
There’s not much to eat here, but there are plenty of beautiful snacks on the menu – tapas. Try the scallops, anchovies, fajitas, and croquettes. Address.
COCO Restaurante
A restaurant with beautiful dish presentation. I recommend Arroz de pescado del día – tasty rice with fish. For dessert, have the Coulant de tarta de Santiago fondant. Address.
Other delicious places:
- Restaurante El Rey de las Tortillas – they make a variety of tortillas (egg with potatoes), try the three cheeses tortilla.
- Muxacho – stewed Iberian pork ribs and cheeks with puree, also try the croquettes and homemade desserts.
