Lookout Point La Cruz del Carmen

In the middle of Anaga Park, near the old center of La Laguna, surrounded by a blue laurel forest reminiscent of primordial jungles, is the Mirador de La Cruz del Carmen.

From the platform located at an altitude of 920 m, there is a fantastic view of the giant Teide, hidden behind the La Esperanza forest massif, and part of the Pedro Gil mountain range. From here, you can see the streets of San Cristóbal de La Laguna – the former capital of the island.

Next to the Mirador de La Cruz del Carmen, there is a parking lot and a small 18th-century chapel of Our Lady of Carmen (Ermita de Nuestra Señora del Carmen). Across the road, there is a bar-restaurant with typical Canarian cuisine, and nearby, a premises where a craft market is held.

Here, at the viewpoint, there is also a tourist center for the Anaga Rural Park, which provides detailed information about its flora, fauna, most interesting sites, viewpoints, and numerous hiking and driving routes.

How to get to the Mirador de La Cruz del Carmen?

The TITSA buses: 076, 077, 273, 275, stop near the La Cruz del Carmen viewpoint. All of them come from the former capital of the island – La Laguna. The journey takes about 30 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs €1.45.
