I've put together a small selection of good hotels in Gran Canaria. I tried to find the best value for money, leaning more towards the budget-friendly options.
Gran Canaria is often called a beach paradise. It enjoys a pleasant temperature of around 23-25°C all year round, and the sky is rarely cloudy. Among the Canary Islands, it has no rivals when it comes to the number of well-equipped beaches.
The most famous, vibrant, and unique attraction on the island of Gran Canaria is the archaeological park in Gáldar: a museum and "painted cave" called Cueva Pintada.
Another international airport in the Canary Islands is located on the eastern side of Gran Canaria island. The airport has one terminal that handles both domestic and international flights.
The Cathedral of Santa Ana is the most significant architectural monument of Gran Canaria. It is located in the island's capital, in the historic district of Vegueta.
Located 25 km from the Maspalomas resort, you can visit the Crocodile Park, which is home not only to the toothy predators but also pythons, parrots, monkeys, Siberian tigers, and other animals. The park hosts various shows, and you have the opportunity to personally feed raw meat to the resident caimans and alligators. Additionally, Cocodrilo Park is notable for its picturesque landscapes and impressive variety of vegetation.
Famous Maspalomas Dunes are both a nature reserve and a luxurious sandy beach. We'll venture into a real mini desert, dying of thirst while conquering the dunes, and at the end emerge to the cool ocean and enjoy the golden sandy beach.
Caldera de Bandama is the crater of an ancient volcano. It's the largest on the island of Gran Canaria. You can descend into the crater, with several hiking trails available. During a walk, you can see caves (former grain stores), wine presses for the grapes grown right in the crater, and a few old, partially ruined houses.
An interesting Botanical Garden on the island of Gran Canaria, bringing together all representatives of the flora of the Canary Islands in one place. It's an excellent spot for walks with the whole family.
Casa Colón is located in the oldest district of La Vegueta, the capital of Gran Canaria. It's one of the most beautiful buildings in Las Palmas. You can spend hours admiring the decorative doorways, latticed balconies, and carved wooden ceilings. It also houses the Museum of Great Geographical Discoveries.
A continent in miniature – that's how they refer to the Canary Island of Gran Canaria. Here you'll find a wealth of entertainment: excellent beaches with golden sand, stunning natural landscapes, and numerous theme parks for a fun family vacation. Gran Canaria's calling card is the mini-desert of Maspalomas, located in the south of the island.
