From Tenerife South Airport (Tenerife Sur Reina Sofia) to the Costa Adeje resort, it’s about 20 kilometers. If you rent a car at the airport, you’ll easily reach your chosen destination.

How to Get There by Bus

From Tenerife South Airport, bus 40 tenerife airport line, operated by TITSA, runs directly to Costa Adeje, Las Americas, and Los Cristianos. The first departure from the airport leaves at 6:30, the last one at 21:40. Buses run every 30 minutes, and the journey to the final stop, Estación Costa Adeje, takes around 40 minutes. The fare is €3.70. Along the way, the bus stops in Los Cristianos and Las Americas — for the latter, get off at the Columbus stop.

The bus stops sit right in front of the arrivals hall exit, with vending machines installed next to them.

The standard bus 40 Tenerife price is €3.70 per person, payable in cash or by card. If you grab a Ten+ travel card first, the same ride drops to €2.90. The card itself costs €2 at the airport vending machines, and you simply top it up with credit.

Planning to move around the south coast during the day? A Day Travelcard costs €10 and covers unlimited rides on TITSA buses. Staying longer — the 7-day pass is €50 and quickly pays for itself.

One practical warning from recent travellers: the airport ticket machines often demand exact change and reject larger notes. Keep coins and small bills ready, or pay the driver directly by card.

By Taxi or Private Transfer

A taxi rank sits right outside the arrivals hall. Based on 2026 fares, expect to pay around €41 to Los Cristianos, €43 to Playa de las Americas, and €52 to Costa Adeje for a standard taxi. A pre-booked private transfer to Costa Adeje starts from €45 for up to 4 passengers, which often undercuts the metered rate.

Run the numbers if you’re travelling as a group. Four bus tickets to Costa Adeje cost roughly the same as a single taxi or transfer split between you — and you skip the luggage juggling on a crowded Tenerife bus.

Uber operates on the island too, with prices broadly in line with licensed taxis.
